Commencement 2022

“Oak Valley changed my life! Not only did I learn valuable business skills and obtain my BA degree, but I grew in self-confidence and developed a love for service and the community.”

- Elizabeth Coronado (Class of 2022)

Graduates and their families celebrated during Oak Valley’s 4th Annual Commencement Ceremony. Nearly 200 were in attendance to hear remarks from several speakers, including graduate Sydney Donohue, who reflected on the unique experience and “family” environment students have enjoyed as they journeyed together to reach this milestone in their lives.

Elizabeth Coronado received the Dean’s award. She has been offered a position in the financial services industry stemming from an Oak Valley internship, while Sydney intends to pursue graduate school.

“The simplicity and sincerity of this commencement added to an already special occasion. It was a celebration of Oak Valley College and its students.”

- Carnell Borden, Career Services Director

Steve Garcia, Lead Pastor at Sunrise Church, delivered the address, encouraging the graduates to partner with God on their journey through life. He pointed out that they should not take their path for granted, but rely on God to walk with them, leveraging their spiritual gifts and making the most of their education. He pointed out by simply earning their bachelor’s degree they are now ahead of the majority of working adults in the region, and remember that their education should be leveraged to push them forward to achieve great things for God’s Kingdom.

The following students were recognized for Latin honors for high academic achievement: Elizabeth Coronado, Sydney Donahue, Nicholas Gibson, Rebecca Grimes, Elli Lindeman, Katherine Prentice and Brett Quarles.

Rounding out the remaining student body honored at Commencement were: Timothy Arjona, Crystal Arriaga, Connor Doeren, Kacie Franco, Nicholas Musulman and Timothy Torres.

What a blessing is was to celebrate the graduating class of 2022!
