Your Experience

Earning your degree is more than earning a credential, it is about maturing and developing your skills, abilities and gifts to move forward in your personal and professional journey. At Oak Valley, you explore a wide range of topics to enable you to reach your full potential. Our traditional classroom experience seems familiar but uniquely fresh and distinct.

Probably the most distinguishing feature of campus life at Oak Valley is the cohort. You enter college with a small group of students. You take each course together, every year, every semester until graduation.

The shared experience frames the meaning of college; transforming you, which allows you to live, learn and grow to become a mature member of your community.

Talk with students and you hear terms that you most commonly associate with being among family. It is amazing to see how frequently students support each other, connect both in and out of class and strengthen the bonds that help them achieve their goals. In the end, you develop lifelong friendships that extend well beyond classroom.

Ultimately, the Oak Valley community is freshly rewarding and filled with energy. It is challenging, fun, serious and casual…all at the same time.

  • Join us for Worship Tuesdays, right here on campus! During the break between courses, students gather to worship every single week. It is a wonderful time for students, faculty and staff to praise our Lord! Worship Tuesdays are hosted by our Oak Valley Worship Team. We are always looking for more to join. Once you are enrolled, we encourage you to join!

  • Oak Valley College reflects a Christian community where faculty, students and staff support one another in a manner that is reflective of the Christian love, honor and respect that is found in the New Testament.

As an academic community, students should always be mindful of this purpose, namely to study, learn, and apply their God-given talents to their coursework. Student Government is meant to enhance, not distract, from the academic experience. Students are encouraged to consider how much time, energy and effort any outside commitments will have before committing to actively participate in extracurricular activity.

At the same time, it is each student’s duty and obligation to contribute to the community. Student Government, including service on Committees or in Clubs provides a suitable option to fulfill your obligation to support your Oak Valley College family.

  • Twice a month Student Body Government host a Courtyard Hang. Students are able to gather to take the stress off of assignments, lectures and homework. Games are played, prizes are won and, of course, there are snacks!
