What Christmas Brings..

Have you ever noticed how babies bring out the best in people? Take a second and think about it, people speak softer and kinder. Friends, families and loved ones gather together to “oooh and awe” over this beautiful new tiny human. There are gifts send and meals prepared for new parents. There is an extra effort of kindness and patience extended to families with infants. Not to mention, people are so much nicer to pregnant women; rightfully so! If you think about it, this is how the Christmas story begins: with a baby.

This Prince of Peace is the Savior of the world that people have been waiting for. When He came to the world, prophecies were fulfilled! Isaiah 9:6-7 says “unto us a child is born, to us a son is given”. That child, that son was Jesus. This baby boy grew up to be a man who lived a perfect and sinless life. He died on a cross for us and rose again granting us the chance to be delivered from our sins.

THAT IS WHAT CHRISTMAS IS ALL ABOUT!

We can easily lose sight of what Christmas is truly about by gifts, holiday parties, Christmas activities and lots of fun foods. While those are all great things, we must be careful as to not give them too much of ourselves during one of the most special seasons. We must remember who we are celebrating, not what. We are not meant to worship these things.

Christmastime brings out something special in most of us. We are generous, kind, festive, friendly and social. Let us remember these acts not just during Christmas but all year round. Let us not wait until December to be intentional with our time, our words and our actions. Let us find ways to honor Jesus all year long!
