Sophomore Spotlight: Yulisa Cachu

This ray of sunshine is sophomore Yulisa “Yuli” Cachu. In the midst of the busy end of the Fall semester, Yuli always has a huge smile on her face. She is a huge blessing to those around her.

Yuli credits her demeanor in part to her relationship with her cohort. "The cohorts, the ability to be with the same people throughout the whole time you are attending, it feels like family and makes me (an introvert) more comfortable”. There is a level of comfortability here at Oak Valley College. Whether a student needs prayer, help studying or a friendly face; the cohort family atmosphere provides that and more.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7). Yuli’s words to live by. Our God continues to remind us that there is no need to fear anything when we put ourselves in line with Him.

If she’s not at Sunrise Church Rialto or hanging out with her friends; you can find Yuli at home making fun videos with her 16 year old sister or eating her favorite food, mac and cheese!

When you see this smiling face around campus, feel free to say hello!

We continue to pray for Yulisa here at Oak Valley as she begins to enter in to her last few semesters here. May she never stop smiling, knowing God is guarding her heart and mind as she lives her days in joy!
